Exactly 30 anniversary since the first Toy Story film was released, establishing the animation giant as a major film company and introducing audiences to iconic characters like the cowboy doll (Tom Hanks) and the space ranger (Tim Allen), who are now famous worldwide.

Coming in 2026, the fifth installment is set to arrive. The first teaser trailer for Toy Story 5 appeared recently, providing a glimpse into the plot but keeping fans wondering how it will resolve the conclusion of Toy Story 4.

The Latest Addition: A Frog-Shaped Tablet Spooks the Toys

In the teaser shows the young girl — who received the toy collection when he left for college — getting a brand new toy, one that terrifies the familiar toy group. Bonnie acquires her first tablet computer, and she is excited about it.

Theoretically, the amphibian-inspired device will animate just like Bonnie's other toys. Still, the toys appear to consider it as a danger intending to supplant them, which it likely will.

The Cowboy's Comeback: Mysteries from Toy Story 4

One thing the trailer doesn't touch on is what the sheriff is back with his friends in the child's bedroom. The end of Toy Story 4 saw him embark on a fresh journey with the shepherdess (Annie Potts), journeying with a carnival and helping prize toys locate loving owners.

Surely, Pixar will address the aftermath of Toy Story 4 in the film. Seeing him appear in Bonnie's room unexpectedly is a little strange, however. It also raises questions whether his partner will have come back with him. And what about Duke Caboom (the star)?

Continuity from the Last Installment

Fortunately, some aspects are continuing from the earlier movie. The final act the cowboy did before departing for his fresh path was pass his symbol of authority to the cowgirl (the voice actor), leaving her as the leader of Bonnie's bedroom. The clip shows the badge attached to her outfit.

Hopefully she is remains the driving force among the toys.
